Biomechatronic projectile

We, Dragan Živadinov, Dunja Zupančič and Miha Turšič, with the help of high-technology tools and the logic of suprematism and constructivism, are engaged in research into post-gravitational art. We make cosmokinetic empty-body directing and telelogical mechatronic machines, biomechatronics and art satellites (umbots). In 1995 we began the 50-year theatre projectile Noordung 1995 :: 2045. The premiere performance, featuring fourteen actors – seven female and seven male – took place in Ljubljana at 10.00 p.m. on 20 April 1995. Five reprises are planned over the next 50 years. Should one of the actors die, he or she will be replaced by a remote-controlled symbol; male actors and their speech will be substituted by rhythm while female actors and their speech will be substituted by melody.

The first reprise took place at 10.00 p.m. on 20 April 2005 inside the model of the International Space Station (MKS-ISS) in the hydro-laboratory at Star City. During the fifth and last reprise, scheduled for 20 April 2045, I, Dragan Živadinov, since 1998 a candidate cosmonaut (Yuri Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Centre, Star City), will use a spacecraft to convey 14 satellites/umbots into geostatic orbit, from where they will transmit to Earth signals representing the roles played by the deceased actors, while at the same time sending high-resolution 3D projections of their faces into deep space. In this way, as images of cosmonauts, of space sailors, in the spirit of art, they will continue the act of searching for eternal truth in the depths of space.

We, seek abstrakt, abstract theatre in gravitation zero for absolute zero.

Working on a Suprematism I have discovered that its forms have nothing in common with the technology of the Earth's surface. All technical organisms are nothing but small satellites - the entire living world is ready to fly into the space and take a special position.For each such satellite is fitted with reason and able to live its own life.

»Post-gravitational art is not a style formation, post-gravitational art is not the Zeitgeist, postgravitational art are the conditions in which art will be produced in the future. It therefore needs a new space of construction, a space where there is no gravity, a zero-gravity space. Gravity is the last problematic force!

Post-gravitational art is the art of an absolute digital abstraction in conditions of zero gravity, for absolute zero.

I declare that all I have taken with me into the 21st century of the art of the last century, the 20th, is suprematism and constructivism. In the new conditions these two words, with the visual experience of Dunja Zupančič, the digital experience of Miha Turšič and my theatrical experience, have established themselves in the word TELELOGY. We populate TELELOGY with the digital procedurality of the “Fifty-Year Theatre Production”.

If I did not have experience of the retro-gardist militant art of the 1980s, I would not be able to enter the cosmokinetic abstracts of post-gravitational art. We are all daughters and sons of Captain Malevich!«
